ALL THAT REMAINS: New Song Available Via MAJOR LEAGUE GAMING Web Site
September 9, 2008Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS and Major League Gaming, the professional gaming league, today announced an innovative promotion that will allow fans of the band to download a track from their new album, "Overcome", one week before the album's release date. The track "Chiron" will be exclusively available from www.mlgpro.com for one week starting on September 9. "Overcome" (Prosthetic Records/Razor & Tie Entertainment) hits streets September 16.
"From the moment we brought Phil from ALL THAT REMAINS into the offices of Major League Gaming, it became clear that this was more than just two companies matching demographics to reach new consumers — because Phil lives gaming the way he lives music, and knows just about everything there is to know about the field," commented Razor & Tie Entertainment Senior Vice President, Marketing Michael Krumper.
ALL THAT REMAINS frontman Phil Labonte added, "It's really great to be working with Major League Gaming. I'm a huge fan of the organization. Besides music, gaming is another great passion of mine and I am very happy to find a way to bring the two together."
"This deal came about through intense mutual respect and admiration between some of our biggest pros and the guys in the band," said Catherine Corry, EVP of programming and production for Major League Gaming. "The synergy between the video game lifestyle and music has been well documented and we're proud to work creatively with ALL THAT REMAINS to offer the single to our community to simply listen to, or use in their original video montages."
In a move to capitalize on the marriage of games and music, players are encouraged to use the music in their game play montages and send it to the MLG game room at www.gameroom.mlgpro.com. The MLG experience includes online tournaments, live events, broadcast-quality programming, and a competitive gaming social network where players and fans can express themselves through video montages, blogs, and profiles.
ALL THAT REMAINS frontman/die-hard video game enthusiast Phil Labonte stopped by MLG's live pre-game show at the Toronto stop of the pro circuit on August 22 to talk with host Chris Puckett about his favorite MLG pros, playing Halo3 on the MLG playlist, and to debut the video for "Chiron" for the MLG community. In another first, MLG's legendary team, Final Boss, will be using the ALL THAT REMAINS track "Two Weeks" as their theme song in MLG pro circuit events moving forward.
